Ira Scot Meyerowitz, Esq., is an ace New York trial lawyer and litigator, and a respected legal advisor in the world of business and entertainment.

Born in New York and a long-time resident of Brooklyn, Mr. Meyerowitz has been practicing law since he graduated with honors at the very top of his class, magna cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, in 1996.

While in law school, he enrolled in The Intensive Trial Advocacy Program (ITAP) where he studied to be a trial lawyer under Barry Sheck, one of the 'dream team' lawyers in the O. J. Simpson trial.

Mr. Meyerowitz also interned as a clerk for a Federal Magistrate Judge, S.D.N.Y., and for the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney's Office, S.D.N.Y.

After law school, he worked at large and boutique New York law firms, as a litigator and trial lawyer, representing corporations and people in various types of business and civil disputes.

Mr. Meyerowitz is currently general counsel to a film production studio. In the past, he has served as general counsel to a prestigious Wall Street stock brokerage and investment banking firm, a national real estate brokerage, and commercial transportation and shipping companies.

In the mix of representing bankers and brokers, he has had his fair share of celebrity clients and cases.

As a litigator, many of the cases that Mr. Meyerowitz has prosecuted or defended over the years - whether it were business partners fighting or a record deal gone awry - were based on either punching holes in contracts or trying to plug up those holes. As a result, Mr. Meyerowitz's experience in litigation now guides and informs his contract drafting and negotiation to better protect his clients against these pitfalls.

Combining his love of the arts and business, Mr. Meyerowitz focused more and more on entertainment law, representing many high profile artists; though, he continues to represents all different types of businesses in his firm's litigation and transactional practice.

In addition, Mr. Meyerowitz helps his clients set up companies and LLCs, and craft the legal architecture of their businesses for maximum protection and profit, efficient operations, and rigorous compliance, and to source and monetize opportunities, especially in this new, fast-moving, ever-changing, gig economy.

Today, Mr. Meyerowitz represents a vast array of individuals and businesses from all over the United States and the world, working with artists, musicians, creatives, influencers, filmmakers, actors, models, fashion icons, techies and entrepreneurs, as well as bankers and brokers and many other varied businesses.

Mr. Meyerowitz is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York, as well as to the bar of federal districts courts in the Southern District of New York (S.D.N.Y.), Eastern District of New York (E.D.N.Y.) and the Northern District of New York (N.D.N.Y.), and he has appeared on behalf of clients in courts, arbitrations and mediations across the country.
